The Neighborhood Playbook Play 1: Pick a Space
The first play in the Playbook is all about the process of discovering a place. This could be within an area your stack of plans says you should start or it could be just off the map. Don’t be surprised if the latter is where you end up starting and avoid the trap of picking what seems easy or is otherwise boring. You want to find a place that has its own magic, is not too big so as to feel full with even a small number of people and is near a place where growth and investment is desired to happen. This play helps you discover and evaluate these places while avoiding common pitfalls.
We intentionally did not make the Playbook available digitally. It is meant to be actively used, put in the back pocket or purse, written in, dog eared and beaten up. But over the next few weeks, we are going to share a few key pages from each play to commemorate these past few years.
