The Neighborhood Playbook Play 2: Pick a Use
The second play in the Playbook is all about taking a position about the future. If people do not come to your area today, what would entice them to do so? What are people in the neighborhood saying they would support if only it existed? What do all those plans say should go on that corner? Activating the space you’ve chosen with portable elements of these uses helps confirm those suppositions while creating a rewarding experience in the process. It also helps potential investors and retailers visualize themselves setting up shop. This play helps you script this use, establish your audience and plot out your program.
We intentionally did not make the Playbook available digitally. It is meant to be actively used, put in the back pocket or purse, written in, dog eared and beaten up. But over the next few weeks, we are going to share a few key pages from each play to commemorate these past few years.
