Blink is the nation’s largest public light and art event and is held bi-annually in Downtown Cincinnati, Over-the-Rhine and Northern Kentucky. As part of Blink, Yard & CO. was asked to create a space where attendees could escape the hustle and bustle of Blink and relax with new and old friends. Out of this came The BACKYARD, a space at our Cincinnati office that was designed in partnership with our friends at Cincy Nice and Black Art Speaks. Nationally renowned artist Asa Featherstone IV was commissioned to produce ‘We Love Us’ - a short film showcasing the distinct beauty, essence and identity of four majority black neighborhoods and communities in Cincinnati. The event also activated several corporate brands, including Skanska, The Porch Swing Company, Neyer Properties and The Plant Trolley. Over 2 million people attend Blink so the work of the artists and the corporate brand partners had extensive visibility during the four-day event.
