The Imagine! Decatur Greenway Area Plan proposes a bold new vision which leverages one of the region’s largest parks and riverfront to create a green seam through the heart of Decatur Township. The Greenway will connect current neighborhoods with three new neighborhoods that may be built along it. Current neighborhoods will have the opportunity to connect to the Greenway while the new ones will gain their value from their access and address on the Greenway.

In total, this vision provides the opportunity to shape the development of 2,576 residential units, 250,000 square feet of retail and services, and 2.3 million square feet of employment uses, all built around neighborhood parks and walkable streets that directly connect to the Greenway. Beyond the quality of life impacts, this vision represents an annual economic impact of $5M in income taxes and $13M in property taxes.
