The City of Mason engaged Yard & Co. to design a vision for Gould Park, an open space located in the heart of the community. The design concept imagines the park as a cultural and recreational destination blending art, landscape, and flexible gathering spaces. The plan introduces a sequence of memorable moments including an a grand arrival, an overlook patio, a series of themed gardens), sculptures along the trail, and a retention pond with bridge connections.

Designed to celebrate both everyday use and special events, the concept emphasizes framed views and visual connections throughout the park. Multiple entry points, trail connections, and additional parking ensure accessibility, while programming opportunities such as yoga on the lawn, arts and crafts fairs, paddling on the pond, and community picnics bring the space to life.

By grounding the design in both natural beauty and civic activity, Yard & Co.’s vision positions Gould Park as a signature community asset that strengthens Mason’s cultural identity and creates a place where residents and visitors can gather, play, and celebrate together.
