The municipality of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, engaged Yard & Company to build its 10 year investment strategy as part of its new Comprehensive Plan. The planning process was built around active and immersive community engagement. This understanding of place allowed Yard to develop an identity for the project which leans into the community’s history while looking ahead. Its primary focus was to create mixed-use development plans for three sites along the primary commercial and transit corridors. In addition to guiding what should go there, the process also highlighted obstacles within zoning and community operations that will need to be overcome to successfully see development.
