EXPLORING DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS FOR CATALYTIC NEIGHBORHOOD SITES
The City of Milwaukee engaged the team of Yard & Company and P3 Development Group to master plan several key sites in its downtown-near neighborhood of Bay View. Community development opportunities include a large, formerly industrial site that fronts a river, open space vacant sites, and a commercial corridor with a need for street and intersection improvements. The planning and design process involved stakeholders and residents through active pop-up engagement to test and develop public space and multi- modal street concepts; model infill development; and master plan the redevelopment sites. Recommendations from this work were folded into the City’s comprehensive update to the Bay View Neighborhood Plan.
