In 2022, Pennrose Development asked Yard & Co. to tell the story of John Arthur Flats, the region’s first-ever LGBTQ+-affirming affordable housing development. Yard worked with the team to not just market the amenities of the project, but instead to dive deeper into the story of the residents as they moved in, the importance of the project, and the origin of the project’s name and its connection to a historic Supreme Court ruling. The final project won an Emmy award and has helped to increase the profile of the project and the developer, all while raising awareness about the need for senior affordable housing for the LGBTQ+ community.
