Montgomery is a city of 11,000 people located 20-minutes north of Downtown Cincinnati. The City engaged a team led by Yard & Company to create a comprehensive planning process that addresses the variety of challenges and opportunities that have evolved over the last two decades since the previous plan. The project fostered a community-wide discussion on ways to support strategic growth and quality of life improvements that complement the City’s historic and family-oriented identity. The Plan is organized around seven policy objectives: 1) Enhance the character and experience along the community’s primary corridor; 2) Focus development in key areas; 3) Expand housing options in a context-sensitive way; 4) Increase safe walkable and bikeable travel; 5) Foster a vibrant and unified Downtown District; 6) Nuture key partnerships; and 7) Integrate environmental best practices. A project brand and engagement strategy provided a wide-range of community involvement. Engineers and planners with Kimley-Horn supported this planning effort. Plan adoption is anticipated during August 2025.
